Edens Praise and Morata’s Malaise

I like to look over random bits of data from time to time, just to find interesting things. And to me this is interesting. So far this season in league play, both Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata have scored five non penalty goals. Eden’s taken seven more shots to get there, and 304 more minutes to do so. He’s also not scored from his last 20 shots, which is a bit discouraging.

But hey, I get it, Morata still needs to do more. My issue is that he’s still doing fine, simply not great. But the alleged consensus of Torres 2.0 is reaching mythical narrative levels of absurdity, and most folks don’t even bother to fact check their comments, instead choosing to grab a pitch fork or torch and join in the march.

Me? I’m still on Team Alvaro, and I fully believe he’s going to come around.
